Hello I am Willie Quinn hereinafter referred to as "Oor Wull".
My wife Susie, her sister Debbie and I have a terrific hobby; we travel between three different hostelries in our area and hold Pub Quizzes.
We create the quizzes, which consist of five rounds, four of which have ten questions and one which has fifteen.
The first round is What's in the Papers this week, on the answer sheet for this round we ask for one member of the team to be nominated to answer the CASH jackpot question if their team wins.
In between rounds I announce the standings of the teams and reveal the answers.
The second round is Entertainment, this consists of a picture sheet of celebrities from which I ask six of the ten questions.
Thirdly the Sport round, what can I say you either love it or hate it.
For the fourth round, which is the Music round, I play via my laptop snippets of music for five of the ten questions, the other five just simply require a knowledge of modern popular music.
Lastly there are fifteen Pot Luck questions, we find that increasing the number of questions, gives any teams which are in striking distance of the leaders a chance to catch up.
Straight after the final round has been marked and entered into the laptop, I reveal the answers to that round, then announce the final standings.
There are booby prizes and first prizes, and the winning team sends their nominated player to try and answer the CASH question.
They have a choice of three different questions, usually two medium to hard and one easy to medium.
The cash jackpot is obtained by charging every player in the quiz £1, NONE of this money is diverted
If the question is not answered correctly the money goes into a kitty and rolls over until next time.
Each pub holds it's own kitty
The jackpot is capped at £100, with the remainder starting a new kitty.
